Artist Bio

I was trusted with a blow-torch at the age of fourteen.

Inevitably, this led to multiple skin burns, irreversible damage to school property and intoxication from paint fumes. This was the - rather grave - birth of a volume of work based

on the Pillars of Creation.

Transfixed by the colours of nebulas and the chaotic arrangements of star-fields I endeavoured to replicate those effects through texture studies.

The first volume of work produced received an 

International High Achievers Award in Art and Design 2008. 

The series of works depicted on this site are photographs from parts of the large scale paintings.

The original paintings from the first volume of work based on nebulas, were sold at a local exhibition in my home town

Limassol (Cyprus) back in 2009.

Each piece of art is one-of-a-kind and cannot be recreated. The individual series aim to convey a different feeling which is open to interpretation and can be associated to the texture

and colours applied. 

The technique used is unique and requires a certain level of command over the water-based paints. The expression ultimately derives from the numbers of layers applied as I strive to exercise control over chaos. The textural elements aim to add depth and dimension to each piece and are best seen in the original paintings when subjected to light.
